WEst Village,  High Line 

High Line

Este parque elevado es uno de los destinos más populares de Manhattan, y no es difícil entender por qué. Una vía férrea en desuso desde 1980, dio paso a un parque urbano con flores silvestres y arbustos. No sólo verás la belleza de las plantas silvestres a lo largo del paseo, o las vistas espectaculares de Chelsea y la parte baja de Manhattan, hay una impresionante variedad de obras de arte expuestas y visibles desde la parte elevada, cuidadas por Friends of the High Line.

This elevated park is one of Manhattan’s most popular destinations, and it isn’t hard to see why. A rail track that went out of use in 1980, the High Line was resurrected as an urbanite’s playground planted with wildflowers and grasses. You could spend your entire time on the High Line in NYC just taking in the beauty of the wildflowers planted along the route, or the stunning views of Chelsea and lower Manhattan. But as if that weren’t enough, there’s also a huge variety of public art to see along the elevated park, curated by Friends of the High Line.

Bowery & Joe Ramone Place 

Joey Ramone Place es una calle en honor al músico estadounidense, co-fundador y vocalista de la banda legendaria de punk rock. Está en la misma manzana donde los Ramones comenzaron, en el famoso club CBGB.

Joey Ramone Place is a street in honour of the American musician, co-founder and lead singer of the legendary punk rock band. It is on the same area where the Ramones began in the famous club CBGB.

Strawberry Fields & Dakota Building

Es uno de los puntos calientes de Central Park. En honor de John Lennon, asesinado el 8 de diciembre de 1980 por un fan enloquecido frente su residencia neoyorquina, el edificio Dakota, se ha convertido en centro de peregrinación para los amantes de la música del ex-beatle y su mensaje de amor y paz. Cada aniversario se congregan cientos de personas alrededor del mosaico del parque, donde puede leerse la palabra 'Imagine', para depositar flores y recordar las letras de sus canciones en un más que emotivo homenaje.

It is one of the hot spots of Central Park. In honour of John Lennon, murdered on December 8th 1980 by a crazed fan against New York residence, the Dakota building, has become a center of pilgrimage for music lovers of ex-Beatle and his message of love and peace . Every anniversary hundreds of people gather around the mosaic of the park, where you can read the word 'Imagine', to lay flowers and remember the lyrics of their songs in a more touching tribute.

Williamsburg (Brooklyn)

Starting in the early 2000’s, Brooklyn’s Williamsburg area has become a hot spot for hipsters. Due to increasing popularity, housing prices soared and hipsters moved to other equally cool and more affordable areas. Now full of farmer’s markets, cool bars, and organic restaurants, Brooklyn is one of the coolest boho-chic areas. Although all of Brooklyn borough is great to visit, Williamsburg is still the place to go. From shows in hundreds of venues to bars to hair salons in old garages, this is a dream hipster city.

Malin's is a fantastic vintage clothing store located on the corner of Bedford Avenue and N. 6th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Hell's Kitchen Flea Market

Escondido entre el Túnel Lincoln y las rampas de autobús de Port Authority, este trozo de calle de la ciudad está cerrado al tráfico los fines de semana, cuando decenas de vendedores despliegan sus mesas llenas de mercancías. Para compensar la ubicación fuera del entorno urbano, los vendedores suelen ofrecer precios más bajos que los de Chelsea, lo que hace que valga la pena la caminata.

Tucked between the Lincoln Tunnel and Port Authority bus ramps, this unlikely slice of city street is closed to traffic every weekend when dozens of vendors unfold their tables full of goods. Vendors tend to compensate for the out-of-the-way location by offering lower prices than found in the Chelsea lots, which makes it worth the trek.

Brooklyn Flea
